Can a “fat” fury overcome Usyk? Analyze his chances

Tyson Fury still looks heavy in the middle section a month before his rematch with three-time unified heavyweight champion Oleksandr Usyk on December 21 at the Kingdom Arena in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.

Fury’s condition is alarming for an athlete entering one of the most important fights of his professional career, but the ambition may no longer be there for the former WBC champion.

Fans on social media are questioning the seriousness of the 36-year-old Fury (34-1-1, 24 KOs) for this fight because he will still be belly fat 30 days before his important rematch with Usyk (22-0, 14 KOs), who beat Gypsy King the last time they fought on May 18.

A $100 million payday: Fury’s Diminished Drive

Fury’s net worth is estimated at 140 million dollarsand he has reportedly earned $200 million over his 16-year career. The money Fury has and a massive purse for the rematch with Usyk on December 21st is said to make over $100+M.

With all the dough Fury has made, the initiative to work has disappeared, resulting in him still having a big belly with a month to go after his second fight with 2012 Olympic gold medalist Usyk.

Fury blaming the referees for his failures

“There’s no secret I’m going in there to knock you out because I don’t think I’m going to get a decision no matter what I do,” Tyson Fury told James Beckersounded tired, disillusioned with a defeated mindset heading into his rematch with Oleksandr Usyk in a month on December 21.

“I don’t think I’m going to get a boxing decision. So I’m going to have to take it away from the judges’ decision like I did in America that time (the Deontay Wilder rematch in February 2020), and I had to take him from there.”

As you can see, Fury has a victim mentality going into his rematch with Usyk, believing he was wronged in his previous defeat to him on May 18th. Instead of looking at his performance and admitting to himself that he fought badly, he blames the referees.

Fury’s attitude is the worst a person can have. He doesn’t have the self-esteem to admit that he made mistakes. So instead, Fury deflects the blame.
