Ella Langley tells the true story behind her viral bangs

Excuse usbut Ella Langley‘s viral bangs were never in her original playbook for becoming a country music star.

In fact, they are the result of a mistake she made.

“Yeah, I didn’t do it on purpose,” she admitted before CMA Awards on Wednesday (Nov. 20).

“Before a show, I was stressed and I needed my … I just had a little, like a bang on the side. Not really bangs,” she explains.

“And I cut it and it was so bad. Like genuinely, how am I supposed to play a show like this.”

As she tells the story, she uses her thumb and forefinger to show how short she accidentally cut her bangs.

“I just told my hairstylist that I was like, ‘Bruh, you just have to send it,'” she says. “And then she sent it on the bangs.”

The bangs have since become a signature look for Langley, but she originally didn’t intend to keep them.

“I thought I’d grow them out maybe, and I don’t think I’ll ever grow my bangs out again,” she admits. “Yeah, now they’re stuck to my face.”

Listen to the story in the video below.

What does Ella Langley look like without bangs?

It seems like only a few months ago that Langley’s fashion accident happened. You don’t have to scroll back too far on her social media feed to find a photo of her sans bangs.

A March video promoting her song “Nicotine” shows the singer with her hair much longer, face-framing pieces parted down the middle. It’s almost strange to see her forehead after months of it being hidden!

Needless to say, she has created a signature look for herself that is very flattering on her.

Country artists who are unrecognizable without their signature look

While country artists are best known for their music and the lyrics they write, there are some you can pick out of a lineup based on their silhouette. In other words, there are several artists who are known for their sense of style as much as they are known for their songs.

Take Lainey Wilson’s watch, for example. Her vintage western look doesn’t just look on her, it is by design. Her unique style was born out of a need to stand out from the crowd and now it has become part of who she is.

For other artists, their signature look might be a cap or sunglasses. These items are so ingrained with an artist that it’s almost uncomfortable to see them without them. But we went there anyway.
