Who will be Maharashtra’s next CM? As exit polls predict victory for Mahayuti, Devendra Fadnavis says “there is no…”

Maharashtra Elections: With most exit polls predicting the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leading-Victory of Mahayuti in Maharashtra Assembly elections, Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis has claimed that the saffron party always gets an advantage when there is an increase in voter turnout.

Maharashtra polled about 65 percent of the votes in the election for 288 seats in the state, which saw an intense battle between Mahayuti and Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA).

Fadnavis, who is also the BJP’s candidate from Nagpur South West constituency, said that in their experience, when voter turnout increases, it benefits them.

“We will get the advantage and our government will be formed in Maharashtra. The vote percentage may have increased because of elected officials. It means feeling affection for the government,” said the Deputy CM.

Fadnavis further stated that they have received information that the percentage of women voting for them has increased due to the Ladki Bahin programme.

However, the Deputy CM clarified that there is no discussion on the CM post at the moment.

“Once the results are out, we will sit together and decide,” the BJP leader added.

Meanwhile, Shiv Sena MP Shrikant Shinde also said that all leaders (of Mahayuti) will sit together and decide.

“There was never a competition among leaders here to be the CM. We want to form a government to do more development work in the next five years,” Shinde said.

While Mahayuti leaders have exuded confidence that they will win the election, Maha Vika’s Aghadi alliance partners have dismissed the exit polls and said they will emerge victorious.

Shiv Sena (UBT) leader Sanjay Raut rejected predictions of exit, calling them “a fraud”.

“We saw ‘400 paar’ data from exit polls in Lok Sabha elections, we saw Congress cross 60 in Haryana elections. Exit polls in this country are a fraud. Now they are giving data for Maharashtra. Don’t trust it exit opinions,” Raut told ANI.

MP Rajya Sabha claimed to win 160 seats and Maha Vikas Aghadi forms the government.
