Grilled by Malaysian daily why still single at 32, Syed Saddiq says fate is in God’s hands

KUALA LUMPUR, Nov 24 — Muar MP Syed Saddiq Abdul Rahman has refused to entertain Malay daily Utusan Malaysia who asked why he is still single at the age of 32.

When asked when he plans to marry and until when he remains a bachelor, Syed Saddiq said he would not answer.

“This is a question that I will not answer. This question will be decided and doomed by God,” the former Malaysian United Democratic Alliance (Muda) president replied in an interview published today.

When Syed Saddiq was asked a follow-up question about whether he has a girlfriend, he replied curtly: “This is a personal question.”

In recent years, gossip news sites have linked Syed Saddiq to a number of women, including one who is a party colleague.

In 2018, Syed Saddiq joked about how there were rumors that he was already getting married.

“Mom said in the spirit of a transparent democracy, there must be an open bidding system where my mom will be the ultimate decider.

“Mom’s sense of humor is still impeccable,” he wrote on X.
