Sex racket in Bhubaneswar, 23 Bangladeshi girls engaged in prostitution!

Bhubaneswar, the capital of Odishahas been embroiled in a grim scandal after an alleged sex racket involving Bangladeshi girls was unearthed in the smart city. At least 23 women from Bangladesh According to new investigations, they are supposed to be trapped in this illegal sex trade that operates in the city.

The women are believed to be victims of a larger human trafficking operation. They were allegedly lured to Bhubaneswar with promises of employment and offered daily wages of Rs 2,000. But when they arrived it was a life of exploitation and abuse.

How it works – the agents contact customers via WhatsApp and other social media platforms. The agents then send pictures of the girls for the customer to choose one of. Later, the customer is forced to pay an advance payment before going to the hotel where the girl is waiting.

The matter came to the fore after a minor girl was rescued near Link Road in Cuttackwhich led authorities to review how these young women were recruited from Bangladesh and brought to Odisha.

Similarly, another sex worker, who was arrested during a police raid, admitted to being held against his will. She described the situation as part of an organized sex racket. “We are victims,” she lamented, shedding light on the persistent torment they endured.

This revelation has raised questions regarding the involvement of a mastermind that runs this network. They have been accused of holding these women captive for years. Investigations are ongoing, with authorities seeking to dismantle this oppressive framework and bring those responsible to justice.

When contacted, Bhubaneswar DCP Pinak Mishra said, “We are keeping a close watch on such illegal activities in the twin city. We have enough intelligence about such activities. Strict action will be taken as per law against anyone found involved in such illegal activities.”
