Father kills alcoholic son in a fit of rage

Visakhapatnam: A 60-year-old man, fed up with frequent fights with his alcoholic son, hacked him to death and buried his body on the outskirts of the village. The murder was committed on November 14 at Darakonda village in GK Veedhi mandal of Alluri Sitarama Raju (ASR) district. It came to light on Friday after the wife of the deceased filed a missing complaint following which the police arrested the accused Korra Chitro.
Police said the accused father, who is a farmer, killed his son Sanyasi Rao (40) by hacking him with an ax on the outskirts of the village on November 14. Sanyasi was addicted to alcohol and used to create trouble at home after getting drunk. A drunken Sanyasi started a fight with his wife, K Dalimothi, on the evening of November 14 and beat her up indiscriminately after she left for her parents’ home. Later he went out and argued with his father Chitro, who was working in the farm. When the fight escalated and a drunken Sanyasi beat his father, Chitro killed his son in one temper tantrums by hitting him repeatedly with an axe. He later buried the body near the farm’s field.
The incident came to light when the Sanyasi’s wife Dalimothi returned to Darakonda and inquired about her husband. After Chitro gave vague answers, she suspected something was wrong and lodged a complaint with the police. The police interrogated Chitro who confessed to the crime. The body was exhumed on Saturday and sent for an autopsy.
