Winslow Community Cupboard holds second annual Festival of Wreaths

BANGOR, Maine (WABI) – The Winslow Community Cupboard held its second annual Festival of Wreaths on Saturday, November 23rd.

Wreaths and local crafts filled the halls of the Winslow Veterans of Foreign Wars as community members had the chance to support their local food bank.

Visitors were treated to merchandise from local businesses, a silent auction and even a visit from Mr. and Mrs. Claus.

The main feature, however, was the raffle of the displayed wreaths.

All money raised by the raffle went directly back into funding the Community Cupboard.

What is ultimately most important to the organizers is making sure everyone gets what they need.

“If we can get the food, we give it out, and my plan is to empty the pantry every two weeks and then restock it. I’m not trying to save the food, I’d rather have people’s pantries at home filled with food so they don’t have to worry about what they need to eat week after week,” said Bruce Bottiglierie, director of the Winslow Community Cupboard .

Saturday was the only day for the 2024 Festival of Wreaths, but it will return around the same time in 2025.
