Bollywood actor Govinda will make his first on-camera appearance on Kapil Sharma’s show, The Great Indian Kapil Show after he accidentally shot himself. In the promo released by Netflix as part of Saturday’s episode, Govinda shed light on the aftermath of the accident. While it is expected that Govinda will delve into the incident in detail during the show, Govinda in the promo revealed Shilpa Shetty’s reaction to the accident.

Sitting next to his nephew, actor Krushna Abhishek and Chunky Panday, Govinda told Kapil that Shilpa visited him after he was shot. “When Shilpa came to see me, she first asked me, ‘ChiChi, how did you hurt yourself? Where was Sunita? I told her, ‘Sunita was out, she was visiting a temple,'” Govinda shared.

He then revealed that Shilpa was teasing him and his wife. “She then asked, ‘Then who shot you?’ (laughs),” he shared.

For the uninitiated, Govinda accidentally shot himself in the leg on October 1st. He was rushed to the hospital in Mumbai and was treated there for a few days. After he was discharged, he met with the press and shared insights about the accident.

“Initially I couldn’t believe it had happened,” he said. “Thoda gehra lag gaya tha, jab laga tab vishwas nahi hua. Aisa laga ke yeh kya hua? (It’s a deep wound, and I couldn’t believe it had happened, I thought, ‘What just happened?'”) he recalled.

The actor shared that he was alone at the time of the incident, which took place early in the morning between 4:45-5:00 am when he was getting ready to leave for Kolkata. “I was preparing to go to the show… to Kolkata. It was around 4:45-5:00 AM. Woh giri aur chal padi (the revolver fell and misfired). I felt a jhatka (I was shocked) and saw then… there was a fountain (of blood),” he added.

Govinda was photographed leaving the hospital in a wheelchair. But earlier this week he confirmed he was better now by going out to cast his vote. The actor went to the polling booth to cast his vote as part of the 2024 Maharashtra Assembly elections without the support of a wheelchair or crutches.
