It’s no secret that the Boston Red Sox are in the hunt for superstar free agent Juan Soto. The team has been linked to the 26-year-old in most reports in free agency since the end of the season.

For some time now, there has been much speculation about how involved Red Sox legend David Ortiz has been in the recruitment of Soto.

Ortiz appeared on ITM Podcast on Friday to explain the extent of his involvement.

“The team then asked me if I was available to go see Juan Soto. Much has been made of Ortiz’s involvement in the Red Sox’s talks with Soto, and for good reason.

Manny Ramirez, Pedro Martinez and Ortiz grew up in the Dominican Republic and were among Soto’s favorite players. Any words of encouragement and endorsements from these three could go a long way toward acquiring the superstar that would change the trajectory of the Red Sox organization.
