Stop this farce

THE “non-criminal hate incident” is a modern invention both ominous and yet monstrously absurd. It must be scrapped.

This crazy concept flourished under the Tories, to their shame. But Labor politicians, ideologically committed to shaping and now monitoring public behaviour, have doubled down.

NCHI allows anyone to trigger one police investigate any interactions they believe were motivated by hostility toward someone race, religion, disability or sexual preferences. No evidence needed.

It’s nothing more than a charter for snowflakes and annoying troublemakers.

Among the astonishing examples, a guy who thought a barber cut his hair roughly.

A German offended by the word “Rottweiler”. A man mysteriously stamped as “Leonard”.

All contacted the police, as did thousands of other ‘non-criminal’ applicants, reveling in their victimhood and seeking ‘justice’.

The police, assumed to be too stretched now to handle your burglaries or nick shoplifters, compulsively log each one.

And the Minister of the Interior Yvette Cooper still into this drivel, even if it’s real crime rises.

Meanwhile her Tory shadow Chris Philip says: “Police should only investigate or record actual criminal allegations, or incidents with a real and imminent risk of subsequent crime.” Which sounds about right.

At least the Met needs to give it up. A monstrous budget cut is forcing London’s force to lose 2,000 officers and limit police station opening hours.

It cannot justify a single investigation without crime now. Can it?

THE farcical arrest warrant for Israel’s prime minister heaps shame and global ridicule on the international criminal Court.

Its claim that Benjamin Netanyahu is starving Gaza is ludicrous when Hamas gunmen routinely hijack supplies.

Let us not forget – unlike the ICC – that Israel is at war. A war against terrorists who hide under their own citizens and enjoy their deaths as valuable PR.

Hamas is guilty of all victims. It ignited this conflict by massacring 1,200 Jews and still holds nearly 100 hostage.

Israel, the Middle East’s only democracy, is defending itself. Why should it live any longer within the missile range of lunatics bent on the extermination of Jews?

TO build their 370,000 Home a year Labor will have to train a new army of bricks.

So we applaud its £140m of new funding for 5,300 apprenticeships.

That’s a big win for Builder Better Britain campaign we launched last year to get more young people to start building.

Let’s hope there will be mortar.
