Bhatti receives over 300 petitions on the ‘meet the minister’ programme

Hyderabad: Deputy Chief Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka received 328 petitions from people during the ‘meet the minister’ program at Gandhi Bhavan here on Thursday.

He issued spot directions to the officials to resolve the issues and submit an action report at the earliest.

Emphasizing the significance of the ongoing caste census, Bhatti described it as a “historic decision” aimed at dismantling feudal structures and ensuring social equality. Criticizing vested interests for spreading false propaganda against the census, he said: “When the survey is completed, it will end the exploitation of those who have looted the people so far.”

Over 300 people participated in the program and highlighted various issues. Associate professor candidates awaiting posting, employees seeking filling of vacant posts in transco and genco, pension and housing scheme issues dominated the petitions. To ensure prompt action, Bhatti issued written orders to the officials to expedite rectification.
He also provided personal support to individuals in need. A young man seeking financial assistance for his mother’s cancer treatment received immediate help, and Bhatti instructed his staff to facilitate the payment of the hospital bill. Similarly, he intervened to resolve a problem of high electricity bills for a small business owner and directed zoo officials to clear outstanding diet bills.

Bhatti outlined major initiatives taken by the Congress government, including launching of Young India integrated residential schools, women entrepreneurship and provision of affordable cooking gas at INR 500 per cylinder and free electricity up to 200 units, among several others.

The Deputy CM also outlined efforts to uplift neglected sectors, upgrade 65 ITIs to advanced training centers and collaborate with self-help groups to generate 1,000 MW of solar energy.

“Our government is laying the foundation for an equal society by focusing on education, health and empowering the underprivileged,” Bhatti said.
