Patrick Dempsey on Talks to Return to ‘Scream’ Franchise as Kincaid

Patrick Dempsey reveals that there have been talks about his potential return to Scream franchise as Kincaid.

The actor appeared Today on Thursday to discuss The Dempsey Center, which provides comprehensive cancer care at no cost. While speaking on the morning talk show, he also opened up about Scream 7 and how Neve Campbell is coming back for the partial payment after not appearing in the sixth due to a wage dispute.

Campbell’s Sidney and Dempsey’s Kincaid are married in Scream universe, so when the talk show hosts asked if he could potentially come back to fight Ghostface, he shared that it was possible.

“I’m waiting for the script,” the Grey’s Anatomy said the star of the morning show. – There has been a conversation about it. I haven’t seen anything yet, so we’ll see what happens. … It’s always good to have a job.”

Dempsey entered the universe in the third film as a Los Angeles detective investigating the murders of people associated with the latest slasher film adaptation, Stitch 3. It was eventually confirmed off-camera that Kincaid married Sidney and remained together in Scream (2022) and Scream VI (2003), who referred to his character.

In one separate conversation with Peoplethe Ferrari star expanded a bit more on the chances of him returning after not being in a role since the third film.

“In this business, you never know what’s going to happen,” he explained. “But if the opportunity opens up and it becomes a reality, then I will definitely take it seriously.”

Next, Dempsey will appear in Dexter prequel, Original sin. He will portray Aaron Spencer, the captain of Miami Metro Homicide who has a decades-long relationship with Christian Slater’s Harry Morgan.

“The whole culture on Dexter: Original Sin has been a wonderful journey,” he said on another occasion Today. “A great group of people. We’re having so much fun and the crew, cast and scripts are amazing.”
