Roman Kemp may be one of the most popular hosts on radiobut although he can charm many celebrities, he failed to impress a high-profile actor.

The former Capital FM star31, which is now host BBC Even The One Showhas opened up about the moment an interview with a well-known James Bond star went horribly wrong and resulted in him almost crying.

007 has been played by several stars over the years, including Pierce Brosnan, Timothy Daltonand more recently Daniel CraigBut the star withdrew from the role in 2021.

It has not yet been announced who will take over the role of the British secret agent, but the latest rumors in the industry have Aaron Taylor Johnson and Theo James as predecessor.

While fans of the much-loved franchise wait for answers, Kemp has taken a trip down memory lane and shared his “terrifying” experience with a former actor who starred in the films.

Sitting with Peter Crouch for an episode of him Therapy Crouch podcast, Kemp called the interview with the actor one of his worst, admitting: ‘One person almost made me cry. I was just young and it was for James Bond.’

Unfortunately for curious listeners, it’s unclear exactly who the cast was, as their names were bleeped out. The only few clues are that he played in the franchise, had one German-Austrian accent and is known for being “scary in his movies”, meaning maybe not a James Bond at all, but maybe a villain.

“He’s like that in real life and I sat there and I asked him this question, and it wasn’t even a bad question, and then he sat and thought,” Kemp added.

And then he just said, ‘Okay. For the rest of this interview, I’m going to ask myself the questions that I think I should be asked,'” Kemp recalled. “I was quiet the whole time.”

Taking to TikTokfans were quick to theorize who Kemp was talking about. JamieGardner in 1988 surmised: ‘Javier Bardem‘, who played Raoul Silva in the 2012 film, Heavy rain.

Other comments saw fans guess it was Mads Mikkelson who played Le Chiffre in the 2006 film Casino Royalebut there was one actor who came up considerably more than the rest, Christoph Waltz.

Amyd2921 wrote: “Of course Christoph Waltz”. Another user agreed, adding: “Bet it was Christoph Waltz. He definitely brings that kind of energy. earning over 100 likes on the comment.

Rhiannon Grace said: “Must be CW.”

Austrian-German actor Waltz starred in two of the Bond films, Specter and No Time To Die, as the iconic villain Ernst Stavro Blofeld. Other films he has appeared in throughout his career include Inglourious Basterds and Django Unchained.

Kemp has not commented on fan speculation.
