Decoding the era of “undetectable” cosmetic surgeries and how they affect the body

When considering cosmetic surgeriesthere are two types of people – one, the people who want drastic, noticeable changes, and the other are those who desire a more subtle, natural look. And while facelifts, breast augmentations and rhinoplasty were once very rare, there is a noticeable change in trend. What we see are celebrities and influencers who prioritize subtlety and natural results.
A video about this trend has blown up social media website, Tik Tok. In the clip, Dr. Prem Tripathi, a facial plastic surgeon, talks about this ‘undetectable era‘. He explains how this era in aesthetics has emerged where the procedure people do on their faces is subtle and loud. To explain, he took the example of a 43-year-old pop star Christina Aguilera. She is one of the few celebrities who actually accepts that she has undergone surgeries to look the way she does.

The surgeon explains that this shift had happened quite some time ago. The difference is that people now have more access to the lives of their favorite celebrities. But this change may or may not be good. Some believe that when people choose to do an exaggerated transformation, it is because they are either insecure about their appearance or they get it done as a symbol of their status. However, this is the wrong example.

There is a belief that this “unpredictable era” is a good thing, as this encourages a more natural, discreet approach, not only to cosmetic treatments but also to everyday beauty routines. The way to achieve undetectable beauty is not just by getting crores worth of surgeries but an overall one healthy lifestyle is also the way to go. A dermatologist who spoke to USA TODAY explained that it’s important to take care of your whole body. The kind of fuel you give yourself—what you eat, whether you drink alcohol or whether you smoke—all play important roles. This approach feels like a step forward in how we should care for our bodies and overall well-being.
Looking at the other side of the coin, the “undetectable era”, means that people will not actually know what is real and what has changed. Celebrities often keep their surgeries private, and this secrecy can cause people to compare themselves unrealistically, due to beauty standards which will be set.
