“I can’t go through that again,” the Doctor Who alum said “I can’t. It killed me.”

On the show, Smith’s character has a distinctive hairstyle and color, showing long platinum locks pulled back in a half-up, half-down ponytail. The look is extremely different from his usual ‘do – short brown hair, often swept to the side.

He also acknowledged that his problem isn’t necessarily a serious one, teasing, “Sorry – these are champagne problems, aren’t they?”

Smith is currently filming another project, titled Caught stealing alongside Austin Butler.

He said that during his time working on the film, he researched different wig options that might be easier on him.

“I’ve talked to the makeup people there, ‘Is there a way around it?’ And they’re like, ‘There is,'” he revealed.

Even if Smith doesn’t find another wig option for his Targaryen role, he may not have to deal with the hassle much longer. HBO has previously announced that the popular series will end with season 4.

Season 3 will shoot in early 2025, but the cast made it clear during their panel that they have no information about what’s to come in Westeros.

“I haven’t heard skin or hair,” Smith said. “I haven’t heard anything.”

Glynn-Carney, 29, said he hasn’t heard “not one iota, not one letter.” Frankel, 30, added, “I’ve heard some things that I couldn’t possibly share here.”

The show is meant to be a prequel to the extremely popular Game of Thrones series, which ended in 2019 after eight seasons. House of the Dragon takes place about 200 years earlier Game of Thronesand is somewhat based on the 2018 book Fire and blood written by George RR Martin.
