Did Jamie Foxx Address These Diddy Rumors In His New Special?

The scandal surrounding the arrest of Sean “Diddy” Combs has drawn some of Hollywood’s biggest names into the rumor mill. Now, Jamie Foxx weighs in on how the controversy might involve his latest medical emergency.

The Oscar winner recently filmed the Netflix special, “What happened was“, where he discussed “medical complication” which he suffered in April 2023. The “Ray” star was rushed to an Atlanta hospital after collapsing on the set of his upcoming film “Back in Action”.

In the months that followed, as he recovered, he and his family kept the details private, leading to wild internet speculation. In the special — taped October 4, 5 and 6 — Foxx finally tells his side of what he went through.

According to Page sixsome audience members at the tapings revealed that the “Slow Jamz” singer claimed that embattled music mogul is responsible for his medical problems.

Videographer/Producer/Director Choke No Joke spoke with Comedy Hypes YouTube channel about what he saw when he attended two nights of the special. He claims Foxx explained to the crowd, “Diddy was responsible for what happened to him, and (Foxx) is the one who called the FBI on (Combs).”

When asked if the “Any Given Sunday” actor was making a joke, Choke doesn’t seem to think so.

“Everybody can tell (whether) he was joking or not when you watch the show, because for me — I’m a new comedian … I know when someone puts up a punchline, and I know when you’re serious,” Choke said, adding that he wasn’t trying to “give away (Foxx’s) jokes.”

Keep in mind that comedy is subjective and this is one person’s experience and memory of the shows in question. While Choke didn’t think the actor/singer was joking, it’s possible Foxx’s intentions were meant to be humorous and his time away from stand up made his delivery rusty.

Celebrity security guard Big Homie .CC told Cam Capone’s YouTube “I know (Combs) poisoned Jamie Foxx, and Jamie Foxx reported him to the FBI because of that… Jamie Foxx reported this man to the FBI because of this.” He revealed to Page Six that he heard the “Beat Shazam” host say this while attending two tapings with a client.

(It’s worth noting that most of his conversation definitely veers into conspiracy theory territory.)

Very few details have been released about Foxx’s shows. Choke No Joke claims the audience’s phones were confiscated before taping began, as is common for major stand-up specials like this.

Dennis LA White, who said he was at the tapings on October 5 and 6, told Page Six that what he heard was more like, “People keep asking me if Diddy was responsible. He wasn’t responsible. If he was, I would have been dead.” He also claims he doesn’t remember Jamie discussing “the federal government or law enforcement,” although he joked about “baby oil.”

To be honest, some of these accounts sound like crazy internet conspiracy theories, so we’re reluctant to fully buy into them. Plus, if Foxx seriously claimed that Diddy poisoned him during those shows…we think more people in the audience would be talking about it.

Also, if the “In Living Color” actor really wanted the special to be about him and his experience, why would he drag Diddy into it, other than to get a few quick laughs?
