Black Ops 6 added one of the best features in years and you probably missed it

Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 completely changed the hit FPS franchise in a number of ways, but this feature hasn’t been talked about much – even though it can be an absolute game changer in helping you get better.

Perhaps the biggest change Call of Duty has seen since the jetpack era, Black Ops 6 introduced omnimovement to the franchise and this was an immediate promise from developers Treyarch to do things a little differently.

While there have been some complaints from players, especially when it comes to the maps, the game itself is in good shape and has had one of the smoothest launches we’ve seen in COD in years.

Not only that, they’ve added a feature to the game that will help you become an even better shot and master any weapon: and you can find it right there in the shooting range.

This amazing feature is really a discreet one, and it’s a recoil wall that dangles from the ceiling of the firing range. You can enable and disable it depending on your needs, but it allows you to see the spray pattern of any weapon.

Recoil wall in Black Ops 6

For example, in the screenshot above, you can see the recoil pattern of the PU-21 LMG. It goes slightly to the left and upwards, before continuing upwards while tilting to the right.

This means that I now know that when I take the PU-21 to multiplayer I have to pull back and very slightly to the right on the right thumbstick before slowly moving it to the left if I’m shooting for a long time.

To access the recoil wall you must:

  1. Open your charges.
  2. Find the class you want to test.
  3. Press in L3 knit to take it to Shooting range.
  4. Once there, press Down on the D-Pad that is Down again.
  5. The first press will lower the moving target, while the second will give you Recoil wall.

This is perfect when you’re struggling to get hold of a given weapon: for example, if you’re trying to unlock them all BO6 mastery camosyou might struggle with a gun in particular.

Simply go to the range, bring the gun you need for practice and start shooting. Soon you’ll be able to perfect the recoil and start mowing down opponents with ease.
