Kempner Water Supply to repair another leak

Lampasas, Tx (Fox 44) – Just as a major water main break has been repaired and Lampasas residents have been able to return to normal water use, Kempner Water Supply Corporation personnel report that another leak has been discovered.

Repairs to a 27-inch line were completed Wednesday night. The City of Lampasas reports that even with this new, apparently much smaller leak, Lampasas water tanks are expected to be full as the system faces this second repair job.

A new statement released by the city of Lampasas says Kempner has planned the repairs so that all materials, equipment and crew resources are on hand to begin repairs as soon as the leak is isolated, without waiting for excavation, parts or travel delays. As with the previous spill, the City of Lampasas will also have personnel on site in the event additional resources are needed.

While situations may change, the City of Lampasas believes there will be no impact on the pressure or disinfection levels of their water as a result of the Kempner repairs. Staff also stressed to Kempner that if adequate planning, materials or resources are lacking, the repairs should be postponed until they can be done efficiently, without disruption to the city. Out of an abundance of caution, however; the city of Lampasas will ask residents to limit unnecessary use of water on the day of the repair.
