This budding young artist has entertainment in his blood, and both of his parents are acclaimed television stars.

His father is a famous actor who has become a familiar face on our screens and even took the stage to host the BAFTAs this year.

While his mother is celebrated for her performances in beloved British dramas such as The Bill, Casualty and Holby City.

Now, following in their footsteps, their son is stepping into the spotlight as he announces he’s making new music.

Ty Tennant is the son of Rivals star David and his wife Georgia Tennant.

The rising star took to his Instagram last month and revealed that he has a new project in the works.

He posted a picture of him playing guitar on stage and wrote: ‘Not so working title – Kick the Tragedy. No gigs coming, recording time bebe.’

His followers flocked to the comments with one saying: “Wait does that mean you’re going to release new music?”

Another said: “Real Cobain vibes going on here.”

Away from music, Ty first became known for his compelling portrayal of Tom Gresham in the adaptation of HG Wells’ iconic science fiction series.

Building on this early success, he took on the role of young Aegon II Targaryen in HBO’s highly acclaimed fantasy series House of the Dragon.

In 2019, he starred in Casualty, the series in which his mother had also made a brief appearance, starring in two episodes before her character was killed off in 2009.

In March 2012, Scottish actor David revealed that he had become a “double dad” after adopting Tyler a year earlier.

The former Doctor Who star told Absolute Radio at the time: “My baby is almost a year old and I adopted my wife’s boy last year too, so I became a dad twice in six months – that must be something of a record that has” not that?’

Georgia gave birth to Tyler in 2002, when she was just 17. She raised him alone and has never publicly revealed who the father is.

David and Georgia married in 2011 and had children Olive, 12, Wilfred, 11, Doris, eight, and Birdie, four.

In 2020, Ty spoke about the moment he met David on the set of Doctor Who, aged five.

He spoke about his close bond with the actor, who he calls his father, and why he would love to be the third doctor in the family when he appeared on Lorraine.

David met Ty’s mum Georgia when she guest-starred in a 2008 episode of The Doctor’s Daughter – and that’s when Ty met his TV hero.

“It was amazing, I was five when I first met my dad, my mum was working on Doctor Who at the time,” Ty said.

“I saw him on TV as the hero, and it was crazy how much your life can change.”
