Roman Kemp reveals tearful encounter with James Bond star during intense interview | Celebrity News | Showbiz & TV

TV sensation Roman Kemp has opened up about a harrowing encounter with a James Bond icon that nearly brought him to tears during an interview.

Speaking on Peter Crouch’s Therapy Crouch podcast, the TV star told of the terrifying moment he was struck by the actor’s commanding aura.

Now used to rubbing shoulders with A-listers on The One Show and his previous stint on Capital Breakfast, Roman told how an early career interaction with a James Bond actor almost brought him to tears.

Speaking to ex-England striker Peter Crouch, Roman recalled a particular interview that has stayed with him. He revealed: “One person almost made me cry. I was just young and it was for James Bond.”

Roman continued, describing the actor’s off-screen intensity: “He was scary in the movie, but he’s like that in real life. I sat there and I asked him this question, and it wasn’t even a bad question, and then he sat and thought ”, reports the mirror.

Imitating the actor, Roman recounted, “He just turned to me and said, ‘For the rest of this interview, I’m going to ask myself the questions I think I should be asked.'”.

Stunned, Roman admitted he barely uttered another word for the rest of the interview as the Bond legend took the reins. While he clarified that Daniel Craig was not the actor in question, the identity remains shrouded in secrecy as the name is conspicuously omitted from the podcast.

Social media has been ablaze with speculation about the enigmatic Bond character’s identity, with one enthusiast suggesting: “Bet it was Christoph Waltz he definitely gives that kind of energy.”

Christophe Waltz is known for his performances as the classic Bond nemesis Ernst Stavro Blofeld in ‘Spectre’ and ‘No Time To Die’, which still remain in the minds of fans. Nevertheless, opinions are divided; another fan responded with a simple endorsement of another star: “Javier Bardem.”

Bardem left an indelible impression as the menacing cyberterrorist Raoul Silva in “Skyfall.”

In a major career move, Roman made headlines in February when he revealed he was leaving the helm of Capital Breakfast after a decade in radio, having begun his broadcast journey with the station.

Having joined Capital back in 2014 when it was solely a London-based outfit, he quickly rose through the ranks, landing The Capital Evening Show in 2016 and then stepping up to host Capital Breakfast in 2017, with the program expanding its reach across the UK during 2019.

While reflecting on his decision to step down in July during an interview with Auto Trader’s Show On The Road podcast, Roman revealed the simple but compelling reason behind his exit: “What made me leave Capital? ..Sleep.”

The accomplished TV and radio personality, who boasts playing on the One Show since 2022 and a notable third place finish in the 2019 iteration of I’m A Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here, elaborated on her newly diagnosed sleeping condition, saying: “I didn’t really know that I had sleep apnea until recently. And then I did these tests and as the doctor described it to me, I was running a half marathon in my sleep and not resting.”

“Because the oxygen intake that I get in my sleep is about 20% of what you would get. I think leaving the Capital was a mix of things for me. I’m tired. I need to take care of myself a little. I was trying to spin two careers at once. One is TV and the other is radio. Been through things on air that no one should ever have to go through, so it’s been sad to leave Capital, but I think it’s the right thing to do.
