Apple has been criticized for its marketing of its latest iPhone generation, as the company touted the latest generation devices as the vehicles for Apple Intelligence. However, when the iPhone 16 was released, there were no Apple Intelligence features available. Apple stated that it plans to roll out Apple Intelligence features in stages, and we just got the first step with iOS 18.1.

If you’re interested in trying out some of the new Apple Intelligence features, you’ll need to make sure you have a compatible device that’s updated to the latest version of iOS. First, you must have an iPhone 15 Pro or higher, which means an iPhone 15 Pro Max, iPhone 16, iPhone 16 Pro, and iPhone 16 Pro Max. All devices below these models will not be eligible because they do not have the hardware required to run Apple Intelligence.

Additionally, interested users must also have their device set to US English and be outside the EU or China. Finally, users must join a waiting list before gaining access.
