Once Patrick Mahomes took over as the Kansas City Chiefs quarterback, there was no looking back.

Mahomes quickly became the heart and soul of this team and is consistently viewed as one of the best quarterbacks in the league.

The Chiefs were a good team before he stepped on the field, but he has helped them take their game and league-wide dominance to the next level.

As a result, Mahomes and the Chiefs tend to instill fear in their upcoming opponents.

Opposing teams respect Mahomes too much to take their matchup lightly, and they’re not afraid to admit he’s been nothing short of brilliant.

This was on full display when Las Vegas Raiders defensive coordinator Patrick Graham told reporters what he thought of Mahomes.

“He’s the best player in our league. Period. Absolutely, in my opinion,” Graham said via Paul Gutierrez on X.

Graham believes he is the best player in the league, regardless of position.

One could argue that other defensive players could make a case for the best player in the league, but given his dominance, it might be hard to disagree with Graham.

The Chiefs have made it to the AFC Championship five times in as many years and won the Super Bowl twice.

Mahomes has drawn some Tom Brady comparisons, and if he can win another Super Bowl this season, the GOAT talk will only continue to heat up.

If he stays healthy, Mahomes could have over ten years of productive NFL action left in him, keeping the league on its toes for the foreseeable future.
