Former UFC Star Paige VanZant has been trying her hand at various combat sports since leaving the Ultimate Fighting Championship in July 2020.

Since leaving MMA, he has competed in bare-knuckle boxing, professional taping and traditional boxing.

He last signed: UFC president Dana White‘s slap fighting promotion, Power Slap. He triumphed on his first try and made his sophomore debut in Abu Dhabi this week.

Unfortunately for VanZant, things didn’t go as planned.

The fight ended in a draw after a stick foul on Chelsea Dodson, wife of former UFC star John Dodson. Following the contest, VanZant took to social media to update her fans.

He shared a selfie showing minimal damage from his opponent’s slaps.

“Okay guys, Power Slap is over. I went home with the draw, accidentally hit it with the stick. That was my fault. I’m still learning, I got a little too close to one of my shots,” he said.

“I need to adjust my distance until next time, but Power Slap, you’ll see me again.”

VanZant compiled an 8-5 record during her time in mixed martial arts. While he is 0-0-1 in professional boxing, he goes 0-2 in bare-knuckle boxing.

It’s been a rough road for VanZant in her post-UFC career, but she said she doesn’t need the money, she just competes to challenge herself and for the love of the game.
