Sean McVay made a notable comment about Cooper Kupp trade rumors

Los Angeles Rams head coach Sean McVay made some notable comments about Cooper Kupp trade rumors following Thursday night’s game against the Minnesota Vikings.

After the Rams beat the Vikings 30-20 at SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, Calif., McVay talked about the boost Los Angeles received from running back Kupp and Puka Nacua. McVay also made it clear that he does not anticipate any trade for Kupp.

“I’m really happy to have Cooper Kupp back with us and I expect it to stay that way,” McVay said. via Michael Baca of NFL.com.

McVay acknowledged that teams have reached out to the Rams about Kupp, but said some things have been reported about the situation that are “not true.”

Of course, if he wanted to trade Kupp and McVay publicly admitted this, it would only hurt Los Angeles’ position. McVay may be trying to maintain his advantage if the Rams deal Kupp to rival teams.

Kupp returned Thursday night from an ankle injury that had kept him out since Week 2. He finished with five catches for 51 yards and a touchdown.

Nacua made an even greater impact. The second-year wideout played for the first time since suffering a knee injury in Week 1 and his return was unexpected. There was belief that Nacua would be limited, but he led the Rams with seven catches for 106 yards.

If the Rams decide to trade Kupp, one AFC contender listed as heavy favorite to receive the former Offensive Player of the Year award.
