A man in his 30s died after his car went into water in Cork, gardai appeal

A man in his 30s died following an early morning collision in Co Cork in which a car went into water.

The fatal crash happened in the Eyries area on the R571 in the early hours of Friday morning.

It was determined that the driver, who was in his 30s, died at the scene.

A Garda spokesman said: ‘Gardaí are appealing for witnesses following a single vehicle road traffic collision in the Eyries area on the R571 in the County MushroomOn Friday, October 25, 2024.

‘The incident occurred in the early hours of Friday morning. A single vehicle entered the water.

‘The driver, a man in his 30s, was pronounced dead at the scene.’

They added: ‘The road will remain closed pending technical inspection. Directions available.’

Gardai demands that witnesses come forward.
