Nearly 200 Stagecoach bus drivers will go on strike after rejecting a pay offer.

The Unite union said services in the Highlands and Orkney would be affected after its members voted in favor of industrial action.

Routes on Skye will be among the Highland services affected.

Stagecoach has been approached for comment.

Unite said drivers were offered a 4 per cent increase from July and a further 2.5 per cent increase from January next year.

This will then be followed by a 3% increase over one year from July 2025.

General Secretary Sharon Graham said: “Unite’s Stagecoach bus drivers, who provide a vital service across the Scottish Highlands and Islands, deserve a better pay offer.

“The company continues to increase bank balances at the expense of our members and this is unacceptable.”
