Beloved Former WWE Superstar Reveals Hall of Fame Dreams

The WWE Hall of Fame is home to some of the most prestigious names in professional wrestling history.

The Hall of Fame is filled with countless former WWE Champions who are considered some of the most prestigious names in the history of the sport, including Hulk Hogan, Ric Flair, Eddie Guerrero and Pedro Morales.

That being said, a majority of the inductees have never claimed the promotion’s top prize, including Gorilla Monsoon, Brutus “The Barber” Beefcake and Rick Rude.

Now, another former superstar is eyeing a potential induction.

In a recent interview with Gabby LaSpisa re “Gabby AF” podcastformer WWE Superstar and current AEW star Shelton Benjamin revealed that he hopes to one day be inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame after spending approximately 16 years with the company.

“It would be a nice touch to the end of a long career,” Benjamin said. “Is that going to happen? Shawn Michaels said they’d keep a spot open for me and stuff like that.”

Benjamin further developed it, though leaving WWE for AEWhe still has love for his former promotion.

“I’m a bit of a WWE product. I was discovered by them. I was trained by them. Most people know me from them. It’s not a situation where I’m anti-WWE, because I’m with AEW now. I’m absolutely not that, I don’t believe in tribalism as an artist between companies.”

“Whether I wrestle for WWE, AEW, IMPACT, New Japan, I wrestle. This is what I do and this is my craft. If I can’t apply my craft (in one) place, I go to another . As an artist, there is no time for tribalism.”

Benjamin continued to live out this dream by naming who he would like to induct him into the Hall of Fame.

“Probably, my first thought, Kurt Angle“, Benjamin said. “That’s my first thought for induction. Now, possibly the MVP. Arn Andersson. Gerald Briscoe. People who really helped me get there.”

“There are a few candidates, but number one would be Kurt,” Benjamin added. “He helped introduce me to the world and his name helped catapult me ​​into the public eye and notoriety. That would be my first choice.”

Throughout his career, Benjamin has been an incredible in-ring talent and involved in some of the best factions in WWE history.

Additionally, he has won countless titles, including the WWE Intercontinental Championship (three times), the WWE United States Championship, and the WWE Tag Team Championship (three times).

There is no doubt that the gold standard belongs in the WWE Hall of Fame.
