Travelers expect backup Friday night because of another concert at the Lenovo Center during the final weekend of the North Carolina State Fair.

Thousands of people are expected to attend the Little Big Town concert at the home of the Carolina Hurricanes and the North Carolina State University men’s basketball team.

The doors to the concert open at 6 p.m

During the fair’s opening weekend, road conditions were a nightmare due to fair traffic and a Sabrina Carpenter concert.

Fair officials said they encouraged all fairgoers to have a plan ahead of time.

“It’s going to be a busy weekend at the fair,” said Heather Overton of the NC Department of Agriculture & Consumer Services. “The best option is to park at the Triangle Town Center or take a GoDurham bus and let them drive.”
