YOUNGSTOWN — The Youngstown Police Department has charged a man with murder and tampering with evidence in connection with the shooting death of Reynaldo Hernandez, 24, according to a news release from Youngstown Police.

Andre Bailey, 40, is in the Mahoning County Jail and is expected to be arraigned today. If convicted, he could face 15 years to life in prison.

Hernandez’s body was found Oct. 18 at Mount Hope Cemetery on Liberty Road near Wardle Avenue on Youngstown’s East Side. Youngstown police investigated and served “numerous” warrants over several days before charging Bailey Wednesday in Youngstown Municipal Court, according to the news release and court records.

The US Marshals Violent Fugitives Task Force arrested Bailey on Thursday. He was interviewed by Youngstown police and taken to jail, the release states.

The homicide “remains under active investigation, and additional charges may be forthcoming,” the release said. Bailey had a Youngstown address in 2020, according to court records.
