What does success look like for the Labor Party Budget?

Chancellor Rachel Reeves said funding agreements had been finalized with all government departments, just days before Labor announced its first budget in 14 years.

Reeves said when he delivers his Budget next week he will seek to shift the world’s sixth-largest economy onto a “new course” that includes big increases in public spending and taxes Reuters. It is expected to include “a range of revenue-raising changes” to plug a £40bn gap in the public finances, without breaking the party’s pledge to cover day-to-day spending without additional borrowing.
