Chiefs WR Xavier Worthy reacts to Jonathon Brooks playing in Week 12

The Carolina Panthers welcome the Kansas City Chiefs this Sunday, along with the debut of their rookie quarterback, Jonathon Brooks. Chiefs rookie wide receiver Xavier Worthy, a college teammate of Brooks, shared his thoughts on the anticipated debut during Friday’s press conference.

“Yeah, that’s my guy, man,” Worthy said. “He had a heck of a college career; he just, unfortunately, got hurt, so I feel like we had him going in college with probably a little bit different but just to see him out there doing the things he’s doing, I’m happy for him.”

The Panthers are in rebuilding mode for their franchise, with younger talent on the field. Carolina drafted Brooks in the second round of this year’s NFL Draft out of Texas as part of the young core to lead the franchise offensively along with Bryce Young. Brooks has recovered from a torn ACL he suffered while playing with the Longhorns last year. He rushed for 1,139 yards and ten touchdowns, along with Worthy in his final college season.
