The sequel to Priyadarshan’s classic comedy film ‘Bhagam Bhag’ is set to start production soon, bringing back the iconic trio of Akshay Kumar, Paresh Rawal and Govinda after 18 years.

The sequel rights were recently purchased from Shemaroo Entertainment by Sarita Ashwin Varde of Roaring River Productions, who is also actively developing the script. The film will be co-produced by Roaring River Productions and Shemaroo.

When asked why the sequel took so long, the production house explained, “A unique film like ‘Bhagam Bhag’ deserves a sequel that is equally special. When the timing felt right, we decided to go for it.”

Sarita, who has been involved in the film industry for many years, has played an important creative role with her husband, Ashwin Varde, a producer known for films like ‘Boss’, ‘Mubarakan’, ‘Kabir Singh’, ‘OMG 2’, ” and “Khel Khel Mein.”

“Bhagam Bhag 2” is in the final stages of development and is expected to go into production by mid-2025.

The makers have teased that the sequel will be “crazier, crazier and funnier.” More information will be shared when the film is officially announced.
