Olympiacos and AEK compete for top spot in epic clash

Olympiacos and AEK are set for a huge top-of-the-table battle as they try to overtake each other in the hotly contested title race.

The Piraeus giants host Enosi at the ‘Georgios Karaiskakis’ Stadium on Monday morning (AEDT) in the 12th round of the Greek Super League, with the game set to be a tough, tight battle.

Both teams have 21 points (equal with Aris), making this a great opportunity to overtake the other on the ladder.

Aris will be hopeful of a draw so they can move straight into first, although they will have to beat Volos at the ‘Kleanthis Vikelidis’ ground on Sunday morning.

The Black and Yellows have made a phenomenal start to their campaign and will no doubt be keen to continue their positive form and claim top spot for themselves.

PAOK are set for a tricky away encounter against Asteras Tripolis on Monday morning where victory could give them a fresh boost in the table.

The Thessaloniki giants sit just one point behind first and could therefore make an important climb up the ladder if results go their way.

Panathinaikos can also make a significant move up the table if they can secure an away win against the likes of Panetoliko’s outfit.

The Greens are just two points off the league leaders, with this match a golden chance to gain ground on the title contenders.

The Agrinio side will not be an easy challenge, sitting one position behind “Trifylli” in sixth place, which means Panathinaikos will have to give everything to get maximum points.

Kallithea will be looking for their first win of the season when they host Panserraikos on Saturday morning, with the Athenian club fighting to escape the relegation zone.

Lamia are looking to move out of last place when they play OFI at the “Athanasios Diakos” ground on Sunday morning.

Atromitos will be looking to build momentum for their upcoming matches against Panathinaikos when they host Levadiakos at home on Tuesday morning.

The Peristeriots will be keen to knock down the ‘blue-greens’ and make it back-to-back league wins, which would put them in good stead for their back-to-back clashes with ‘TrifyllI’ next week in the league and in the cup.
