‘Delicious’: Star Trek’s Gillian Vigman talked to us about Dr. T’Ana’s profanity in lower decks and why she’ll miss it so much

The TV schedule 2025 is just around the corner, but not before we see Star Trek: Lower Decks will end its final season in 2024. It’s a show that has meant many different things to different people throughout its run. Some will miss the laughs they had when they streamed it with theirs Paramount+ subscriptionand others will miss their favorite characters. For Dr. T’Ana actress Gillian Vigman will miss the profanity, she told CinemaBlend when she compared her character’s whining habits to her own life.

Vigman was kind enough to speak with CinemaBlend beforehand Star Trek: Lower Decks episode “Of Gods And Angles”, where her Dr. T’Ana threw up a storm as usual when Boimler tried to get invited to her book club. The voice The actress behind the Caitian doctor confirmed that she swears just as much as her Starfleet counterpart and shared her perspective on it:

I find swearing – it’s such a strange thing to say – delicious. I think it’s funny. I like how you can use it in an emphatic way to really get a point across. And I know a lot of people would say that’s a sign that you lack intelligence (or) that you don’t know how to express yourself in any other way. And I say no. I love it. I express myself in many ways, but this is part of the rainbow of expletives I would love to use when I speak.
