Elon Musk, the billionaire CEO and now a self-proclaimed top player is making headlines again. Musk recently reached the top spot in Diablo 4 ranking after clearing a Level 150 Artificer’s Pit in a record time of 1:52. But is this achievement really his own?

The billionaire’s new feat has players questioning whether he really did it. Fans have pointed out his questionable history with games like Fire Ring where his building turned out not to be the best. So now the question arises among the community, did he really get this disc himself?

Musk’s supposed feat Diablo 4 is impressive on paper. The game’s hardest challenge, level 150 of the Artificer’s Pit, is considered the ultimate test of skill. Musk’s record run beat the previous leader by seven seconds. This has immediately led to skepticism from society.

An X (formerly Twitter) user immediately noted, “Anyone who has seen his Elden Ring charge knows he didn’t.” Musk’s gambling reputation took a hit earlier this year when his Fire Ring construction was revealed on-line.

Dubbed “CEO build,” it featured a chaotic mix of weapons and shields that rendered Musk’s character comically slow and ineffective. At level 111, his character was still “fat rolling” due to an overloaded equipment load.

While Musk joked that he got a “the seller of the month award” from Blizzard, critics were less amused. One user questioned the ability to balance a busy life managing Tesla, SpaceX and X while setting records in a game that Diablo 4.

The gaming community has not been shy about speculating whether Musk is paying professional gamers to play on his behalf. “He probably pays someone to play for him“, one Twitter user remarked, echoing a common theory.

Real or not, his playing habits are a highlight

Some people argue that game skills don’t necessarily correlate between titles, and his bad Fire Ring performance does not disprove his Diablo 4 dominance.

In a recent podcast, Musk revealed his identity on Diablo 4s charts, surprising fans by ranking in the top 20 globally even before his record-breaking run.

He also framed gaming as a way to unwind and sharpen his mind. His openness about his hobby humanizes him to fans and breaks the stereotype of CEOs as purely work-focused.

Whether his new record is legitimate or not, Elon Musk’s online image is definitely under scrutiny. His performance has undeniably shone a spotlight on the blurred lines between passion and privilege in competitive gaming.

But the question remains: is Musk a god-level player or just another player using resources to tip the scales? What are your thoughts? Let us know in the comments!
