The presidential election is over and Donald Trump is on his way back to the White House. I don’t like it, but as an American citizen I have to accept it. While I disagree with those who voted for Trump, I respect their right to make their own choice, just as I did.

Those of us who never wanted Trump near the White House again get to choose how to react to his election and upcoming presidency. I know this much: Prolonged anger and disappointment is not productive, nor is it a healthy way to live daily life.

I know this too: Life is too short to let political differences with others make you unhappy or get in the way of a friendship, even if you have a hard time understanding how others could support a person you’re convinced will be bad for the country.
