Former President Donald Trump said Thursday in Tempe, Arizona, that the United States is “like a garbage can for the world” under the Biden-Harris administration’s border policies.

“They have unleashed an army of immigrant gangs waging a campaign of violence,” Trump said. “We are a dumping ground. “We are like the garbage dump of the world.”

Trump frequently references cases of illegal immigrants being released across the border into the United States under the Biden administration and continuing to commit crimes.

Vice President Kamala Harris, the Democratic 2024 nominee, was pressed during a CNN town hall Wednesday night about a record number of illegal immigrant border encounters occurring under the Biden administration. He has struggled to defend the administration’s decision to roll back many of Trump’s border actions through executive order after he takes office in 2021.
