Exit polls show clear advantage for BJP-led Mahayuti, two predict hung assembly in Maharashtra – India News

Several exit polls released on Wednesday gave a clear advantage to the BJP-led Mahayuti alliance in Maharashtra, while some predicted a potential win for the Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) coalition.

The exit polls, which were published shortly after voting closed at 18.00, predicted a win for BJPheaded the Mahayuti government in the state. With 145 seats required for a majority in the 288-member Maharashtra Assembly, the current government is a coalition of the BJP, Shiv Sena (Eknath Shinde faction) and NCP (Ajit Pawar).

The matrix finish the surveyconducted in collaboration with several news organizations, predicted 150-170 seats for the BJP alliance, with a vote share of 48%. On the contrary the congress-led MVA was expected to secure 110-130 seats and a 42% vote share, while others were expected to win 8-10 seats, with a 10% vote share.

People’s Pulse, another pollster, gave the Mahayuti alliance 175-195 seats, while the MVA was expected to win 85-112 seats and others 7-12 seats.

The P-MARQ exit poll placed the BJP alliance at 137-157 seats, with the MVA at 126-146 seats and others securing 2-8 seats. Electoral Edge predicted MVA to win 150 seats, while Mahayuti was projected to secure 121 seats, with 20 seats up for grabs.

Poll Diary predicted a win for NDA with 122-186 seats, while MVA was expected to win 69-121 seats, and others were predicted to secure 12-29 seats. Chanakya Strategies, another exit poll, projected 152-160 seats for Mahayuti, with 130-138 seats for MVA and 6-8 seats for others.

Lokshahi Rudra indicated a close contest, with Mahayuti expected to win 128-142 seats and MVA 125-140 seats. Others were estimated to win 18-23 seats.

The Lokpoll exit poll gave Mahayuti 115-128 seats, with a vote share of 37-40%, while the MVA predicted to win 151-162 seats, with a vote share of 43-46%. It predicted 5-14 seats for second, with a vote share of 16-19%.

A total of 58.43 per cent voters exercised their right to vote on Wednesday in the assembly elections in Maharashtra. The figures are preliminary, according to ECI data. Voting began in all the 288 seats in the assembly at 07.00 and ended at 18.00. The results will be counted on November 23.
