Firdous Jamal talks about life after cancer and family isolation

Famous Pakistani actor Firdous Jamal celebrated for his performances in classic dramas like ‘Waris’, ‘Manchalay Ka Sauda’ and ‘Pyare Afzal’, recently opened up about his life choices after a cancer recovery during an interview with a YouTuber.

After receiving a cancer diagnosis in December 2022, Jamal made the momentous decision to isolate himself from his family following his recovery. “I have left my family after I recovered from cancer because I didn’t want my family to suffer because of me,” he shared.

The actor expressed his belief that his presence could be a source of pain for his loved ones, saying, “Sometimes you become the cause of other people’s pain, and I didn’t want that.”

Reflecting on his family’s well-being, Jamal remarked, “I think my family is pretty peaceful without me,” emphasizing his long-standing preference for solitude. He added, “I don’t want to create obstacles for others just because of myself.”

Jamal also touched on the subject of his ongoing ban from Hum TV, attributing it to some of his controversial views on the acting industry. Affirming his belief that genuine sustenance comes from a higher power, he said: “Hum TV or any other person is not the provider and sustainer of mankind. Allah gives Rizq to people.”

He stood by his previous statements, noting, “I stand by my opinions about actors because I said what I felt. I can only speak for myself, and I’m not in the habit of hiding my feelings or thoughts.”

With this candid reflection, Firdous Jamal continues to captivate his audience, both for his talent and his resilience in navigating personal challenges
