No fewer than eight members of the youth set-up at La Liga heavyweights Real Madrid were given the chance to impress in first-team training on Saturday.

This comes amid ongoing preparations for Real’s return to action after the international on Sunday.

Los Blancos are ready to kick-start their campaign again in 24 hours, when they take to The Estadio Municipal de Butarque, to face Leganés.

Carlo Ancelotti’s men will go into proceedings hoping to build on a return to form last time out, having looked back to their best en route to a 4-0 drubbing of Osasuna.

But in striving for so much, Real will once again be forced to do without a number of key players.

This comes with David Alaba, Dani Carvajal, Éder Militão, Aurélien Tchouaméni, Rodrygo and Lucas Vázquez all unavailable for selection due to injury.

Faced with such woes, therefore, some of Castilla’s next crop of breakout stars were brought into first-team training.

According to a report from Relayeight such players were seen at Valdebebas last Friday, in the form of:

Raúl Asencio, Diego Aguado, David Jiménez, Cristian David, Daniel Yáñez, Gonzalo García, Sergio Mestre and Guillermo Súnico.

Defender Asencio is a lock to be called up to face Leganés, and it now remains to be seen whether Ancelotti and his staff also opt for further Castilla inclusion.
