A unique event was organized for thousands of students in Kota, Rajasthan to overcome depression. As we know, the cases of suicide in Kota have increased in recent times. Rajasthan Administrative Service trainee Ashwin Malu from Barmer inspired the students to live their lives by keeping depression away from them. He participated in it along with RAS topper Vikrant Sharma in the event. During this programme, a total of 34 RAS officer trainees visited Kota to inspire students on the issue of depression. The officers, who were in Kota for a three-day study tour, attended a special class to coach students to overcome depression and keep them motivated. They told the students about their own failures and struggles.

In this initiative, 34 officers of the Rajasthan Administrative Service (RAS) were sent on a three-day study tour to Kota district. Apart from routine training, everyone was sent to interact with coaching students for an hour each. Among them, Ashwin Malu from Barmer, who secured 14th rank in Rajasthan, addressed the students and narrated the biography of Rabindra Nath Tagore. He also encouraged the students to build resilience against depression and work towards realizing their goals.

While narrating a memoir from his life, Malu told the children an incident at a temple. Malu said he had gone to Girnar in Junagadh to complain to Dada Neminath about his failures, then a disabled person reached the temple by climbing thousands of steps. When Malu saw him, he thought in his mind that despite such a difficult condition and physical weakness, this disabled person had reached his destination. Why, then, have I, who am capable, come to the temple to complain of my failures?

He said that from that day onwards he started preparing for Rajasthan Administrative Services and when the results came he secured 14th rank in the state. Malu told the children that what the disabled person taught was the most special thing. He further added that one must fight all kinds of situations, not be afraid and die. After the speech, RAS Vikrant Sharma and Ashwin Malu also answered many questions from the children.
