Swara Bhasker reacts after husband Fahad Ahmad loses election debut

Actress Swara Bhasker has alleged foul play after her husband Fahad Ahmad, an NCP (Sharadchandra Pawar) candidate, lost his maiden election to the Maharashtra Assembly. Veteran politician Nawab Malik’s daughter Sana Malik, a Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) candidate, won the election from the seat. It was her debut in the state opinion polls.

Swara claimed that Fahad was leading and suddenly the EVM was opened. “IN Anushakti Nagar vidhaan sabha after a steady leadership of Fahad Ahmad of NCP-SP…RAround 17, 18, 19 suddenly 99% battery charger EVMs are opened and the BJP backed NCP-Ajit Pawar candidate takes the lead. How can machines that have been voted ALL day long have 99% charged batteries? Why are all 99% charged batteries giving votes to BJP and its allies?” she asked on X.

Ahmad also alleged manipulation in the voting results, saying in an X-post directed at the Electoral Commission that “I’m coming after you”. “This is rank manipulation. We demand a recount of rounds 16, 17, 18 and 19,” he added. “I led until the 17th round, the dilemma of 99% battery of the CU (control unit) still needs to be solved (sic) )”.

Fahad Ahmad is a former member of the SP who joined the NCP (SCP) in October. Ahmad, an alum of Aligarh Muslim University, has been an active student politician and participated in anti-CAA agitation, The Times of India reported.
