Priyanka Gandhi Vadra is heading for a landslide victory in the Wayanad Lok Sabha by-election. She is currently leading her nearest opponent by a huge margin of around 3.5 lakh votes. Her husband, Robert Vadra, said that the people of Kerala constituency appreciated the Congress leader’s efforts by voting for her.

“I want to thank the people of Wayanad, they have recognized Priyanka’s efforts. I always want Priyanka to be in Parliament to address people’s issues and I am hopeful that she will win with a record margin,” he told reporters.

When asked what Priyanka Gandhi Vadra was doing when the counting was going on, Robert Vadra said she was reading books at home.

“Priyanka is currently busy reading books and spending time with children. She is very happy with the results as she worked very hard for this and she wants to serve the people of the country,” he added.

CPI’s Sathyan Mokeri is second in Wayanad.

BJP candidate Navya Haridas is in third place. She attacked Priyanka Gandhi when she spoke about the election results.

“While this counting started, we had expectations because we were approaching the people by just talking about the development of Wayanad…This development oriented election campaign was conducted during this election. We had hoped that people would implement their minds for development. But unfortunately the turnout was very low.BJP could not reach the level we expected..In last 5 years if we see no work done in any sector.People in Wayanad have longed for medical college i decades but it was also not implemented.Priyanka Vadra will also visit Wayanad.But we could not win this time .
