  • The Nvidia RTX 5070 Ti has joined the list of leaked Blackwell GPUs

  • It is said to use the GB203 chip found in the RTX 5080

  • Apparently it would be a cut-down GB203, possibly with 8,960 CUDA cores

Nvidia’s next-generation GPUs are said to arrive at CES 2025and we’ve just received a new rumor of a new model – an alleged RTX 5070 Ti.

So far the rumor mill has been share information about RTX 50905080 and 5070, so the 5070 Ti is a new leak, coming from one of the more regular purveyors of GPU-related rumors on X, Kopite7kimi.

In this case, Kopite7kimi didn’t post any details on X, but instead shared some info directly with VideoCardz.

We’re told that the RTX 5070 Ti will have 8,960 CUDA cores, which would mean 70 SMs (Streaming Multiprocessors), and indicates that the graphics card will use a cut-down of the GB203 chip from Blackwell.

It’s the same chip as the RTX 5080 rumored to run with (with the GB202 being the flagship GPU for the RTX 5090 alone).

Kopite7kimi also claims that the power consumption will be 300W for the RTX 5070 Ti, but it is not clear what measure the mentioned figure could be (TGP or TDP). In any case, this is just speculation, so season it liberally.

There is no information on clock speeds at this time, or the crucial video memory load. The The RTX 5070 has been rumored to run with 12GB of VRAM previously, worryingly, but other gossip has suggested that a higher-end variant – like a 5070 Ti or Super – could run with more (up to 18 GB).

Analysis: The ever swirling rumors surrounding Blackwell

It’s really interesting to see the RTX 5070 Ti popping up in leaks now.

It’s still unclear if, as originally rumored, Nvidia might just launch a pair of Blackwell GPUs at CES 2025, the RTX 5090 and 5080 — or if Team Green might just squeeze in another model, such as the RTX 5070, as already rumored. . Or maybe this RTX 5070 Ti is a possibility? We doubt it, overall, and Kopite7kimi could not be drawn to comment on that speculation (VideoCardz asked the question).

If the core count mentioned is correct, that would be a 16% increase on the RTX 4070 Ti (which was before Nvidia discontinued that model). Previous leaks surrounding the RTX 5070 have suggested that its core count might be relatively low – a core count of 6,400 CUDA has been mentioned before, for example – and so it looks a bit shakier in light of this latest leak.

It would be a pretty big jump from the 5070 to the 5070 Ti if that were the case, a more pronounced step than with their predecessor graphics cards – although that may be Nvidia’s plan. Either that, or the previous RTX 5070 speculations are off the mark.
