Honda Activa Electric teased with swappable battery technology ahead of November 27 launch: What to expect

Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India (HMSI) has once again teased its much-awaited electric two-wheeler, the Honda Activa Electric. Premiering on November 27, the latest teaser reveals that the Activa E will feature the latest replaceable battery technology, promising improved convenience and performance (via HT Auto).

The teaser reportedly showcases a dual-battery setup for the Activa Electric, a feature previously seen in HMSI’s Benly e electric scooter unveiled at the Bharat Mobility Expo 2024. The Benly e is used Honda’s advanced mobile Power Pack replaceable batteries, and the same technology appears to have been integrated into the Activa E, highlighting HMSI’s drive towards innovation in the electric mobility sector.

To recall, an earlier teaser revealed that Activa Electric will be available in two trims, separated by their digital instrument clusters. The entry-level variant will be equipped with a basic TFT display, while the higher spec ones will boast a vibrant multi-colour display.

According to several media reports, the advanced digital display on the premium variant is expected to provide comprehensive information, including battery status, remaining range, speed and driving mode. Additional features like turn-by-turn navigation and music control are also expected, further enhancing the user experience.

The Activa E is also expected to offer a claimed range of 104 kilometers on a full charge in standard mode. A sport mode, designed to provide improved throttle response, is also likely to be available, albeit at the cost of reduced range.

Additionally, the e-scooter is also expected to feature swingarm-mounted motors, a configuration seen in rival models such as the Bajaj Chetak and the TVS Vida V1. This setup can support a balance of performance, making the scooter an appealing option for family-oriented buyers.

Teasers also hint at one elegant design with LED headlights and a practical seating arrangement, suggesting a well-rounded package suitable for everyday use. While complete details remain under wraps, the Activa E is expected to include all the key offerings to meet consumer expectations.
