The DEA is hosting the second National Prescription Drug Take Back Day this year

COLORADO — Opioid addiction and prescription drug abuse continue to plague communities across the United States

As a solution to an ever-growing problem, the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) has implemented National Take Back Day, dedicated to removing unnecessary prescription drugs from households before they can cause harm.

Collection locations in El Paso County opens at 10 a.m. on Saturday, October 26 and closes at 2 p.m

As of April 27 of this year, the DEA collected 670,136 pounds of the drug nationally across 4,869 collection locations, with 10,017 pounds collected throughout Colorado.
