The Minot Pride of Dakota Showcase features approximately 80 local vendors

MINOT, ND (KMOT) – About 80 local businesses across the state are proud of their products at the Pride of Dakota expo in Minot.

At Pride of Dakota, you can find unique products such as gourmet food, art, clothing, and more – all made in the Peace Garden State.

A supplier from Surrey sells jewelery and all things bling.

Terra Knipp and her sister Holly own A Sister Thing Boutique, in honor of their sister and mother who passed away several years ago.

“It’s our ideas. We put it all together and it’s from North Dakota,” Knipp said.

It is their fourth year in the showcase.

A longtime supplier of authentic West African skin products is marking its 17th year as a Pride of Dakota supplier.

“We go to Ghana, West Africa, we import. Then we package, we make sense of things. We make products with our raw materials, says Legends of Africa owner Corey Schultz.

When it comes to local delicacies, bread pudding seems to top the charts. Debbie Deaver with Daarthe’s Bread Pudding has her products all over the state and has even shipped in almost every direction in the country.

“Anyone who wants to try a business, never think you can’t do it. I remember Norsk Hostest my mother saying, ‘You never know until you try!’ So try!” Deaver said.

The pride of these vendors can be seen throughout the room.

“I’m so proud of Pride of Dakota. I’m so proud of the Department of Agriculture,” Deaver said.

“It’s something we’re very proud of because we manufacture, manufacture, assemble,” says Knipp.

This marks the 27th year of the Pride of Dakota showcase.

You can catch the vendors again on Saturday, October 26 from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. The state capitol will host the holiday presentation of Pride of Dakota products at the Bismarck Event Center on Dec. 6-7.
