Matthew Perry’s mother reveals how the late actor had a ‘premonition’ before he passed away last year.

The Friends star found dead in a hot tub at his home in Los Angeles on October 28, 2023.

An autopsy had established that Perry had died as a combined result of drowning and ketamine use – with his death initially reported as accidental.

But in August this year, five people were arrested in connection with his death.

They include Perry’s resident assistant, two doctors and a woman called “the ketamine queen” – with one of the doctors later pleads guilty to illegally distributing ketamine to the actor.

United States Attorney Martin Estrada said the investigation had uncovered a “wide underground criminal network” of people taking advantage actor.

DEA Administrator Anne Milgram said at the time: “Today we are announcing the indictment of the five individuals who are collectively responsible for the death of Matthew Perry,

“We allege that each of the defendants played a key role in his death by improperly prescribing, selling or injecting the ketamine that caused Matthew Perry’s tragic death.

“Matthew Perry’s journey began with unscrupulous doctors who abused their position of trust because they saw him as a payday, to street vendors who gave him ketamine in unlabeled bottles.”

Almost a year after the actor’s death, his mother, Suzanne Morrison, has spoken out, explaining that she believes her son had a “premonition”.

“He went through a period, interestingly enough, right before he died when he showed me one of his new houses,” she told Today.

“He came up to me and said, ‘I love you so much, and I’m so happy to be with you now. And I’m so…’ It was almost like it was a premonition or something. I thought not at the time, but I thought, ‘How long has it been since we had a conversation like that?’ Years have passed.

“… There was an inevitability in what was going to happen next to him, and he felt it very strongly.

“But he said, ‘I’m not afraid anymore’. And that worried me.”

Perry’s stepfather, Keith Morrison and younger sister Caitlin Morrison has also spoken about the actorand how they plan to continue his legacy.

Speaking to Hello, Perry’s stepdad Keith admitted the family had been left “devastated” by his death.

“When (Matthew) died suddenly, it was incredibly shocking… anyone who has lost a child will tell you that even if you are somehow prepared for the possibility, it is devastating. What we have decided to do is to stick to that determination and try to do something useful,” he said.

“He had this ability to fill a room with light,” Caitlin added.

“When people were in a room with (Matthew), there was this magnetic energy. Everyone just had a smile on their face and they latched onto everything he said.”

The family hopes to continue the actor’s work helping those struggling with addiction by launching Matthew Perry Foundation in Canada which aims to “support individuals in their first year of recovery from substance use disorders following treatment”.
