Gascón said the brothers committed “horrific” acts but believes they were “subject to a tremendous amount of domestic dysfunction and molestation,” according to USA TODAY.

A Los Angeles Superior Court judge will decide to formally arraign the Menendez brothers at a future court hearing, during which it will be decided whether they will be released from prison, according to a news release from Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office.
