Naperville crash: 35-year-old woman Sarah Jelgerhuis died when car went into pond following collision on Hobson Rd, S Naper Blvd.

NAPERVILLE, Illinois (Wales) — A woman died after her car crashed into a pond in Naperville on Wednesday night.

Naperville police said the crash happened just after 8 p.m. near South Naper Boulevard and Hobson Road.

Police say a Nissian Kicks vehicle driven by a 35-year-old woman was turning from Naper Boulevard onto Hobson Road when it was struck by a Ford Bronco driven by a 17-year-old girl from Naperville.

After the collision, the Nissan partially sank into the pond. Police said the driver was taken to the hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.

The deceased driver was identified as 35-year-old Sarah A. Jelgerhuis of Wheaton.

It is not yet known whether the other young driver was injured in the accident.

The investigation into the crash is ongoing by the Naperville Police Department Traffic Unit.
